Claudia has been begging Steve for days to set up the tent out back for a sleepover with some of the neighbor girls. Well, with not a whole lot of excitement, Steve followed through last night so the girls could camp out. I had forgotten how big the tent was - it could sleep eight so they had plenty of room to thrash around. I came out to say goodnight and they had a little lantern and were sitting in a circle talking. It made me smile knowing that this would be a memory they would carry with them for years to come. I remember things from summers during my childhood that bring a smile to my face to this day. Too bad when we are in the moment we fail to realize how treasured those experiences with those special friends will become. The best part was when we got home from work our longtime friend Megan, one of the girls who had spent the night, wrote a letter to Steve thanking him for setting up the tent and that they had a great night...he acknowledged the little bit of trouble he had to go through was well worth it.
Trying to keep it simple with a husband, five kids, three dogs, a job, and a jewelry business.

Summer Memories
