Happy Trails.....Sort Of.

Weeks ago, Steve and some of his friends took an 18 mile hike through a Pennsylvania state park. He raved about its beauty when he got home that day, and said he wanted to take us all in July when the rhododendrons would be in bloom.
Despite the muggy conditions, the forest was cool. The water was so clear I was tempted to drink from the stream but refrained as memories of my bout with giardia crept in....The kids for the most part perked up and enjoyed themselves mostly at my expense as I slipped on mossy rocks and jumped every time I thought I saw something move in the woods. We ended the day with Steve's first trip to Dirt Cheap and ice cream at DQ. Days like this are to be treasured as next year one more will leave the nest.
