For the first time in more than 20 years we are spending the holidays in the midwest. It is the last Christmas in Steve's boyhood home, so all of the kids and grand kids have congregated in Iowa to celebrate. Liza and I flew into Omaha and then drove to Iowa City and Steve and the rest of the bunch drove from Maryland. On our way to Iowa City yesterday, we stopped in Des Moines to catch up with one of my dearest college friends Dana. She has recently adopted a little girl from China named Claire. She is as spunky and happy as you can clearly see from the picture with Liza. She loves princesses so we brought her a Cinderella doll and princess nail polish which she insisted Liza put on. It was so terrific to see Dana...she is truly one of my favorite people of all time. More to come from Iowa tomorrow.....stay tuned.
