It's that time of year again - school is winding down and all of the end of the year milestones are taking place. We had another one sneak up on us - Erik and Claudia's 8th grade formal. It seems like just yesterday I was driving them to pre-school and the biggest worry of the day was how long would they nap that afternoon. Flash forward 11 years and they are wearing ties and fancy dresses and headed off to do whatever it is they do at an eighth grade dance. Both of them were so excited - Claudia had a little date and when I asked Erik if he would be asking anyone he replied - "I'm just going to roll on my own Sue." After that answer I was sufficiently put in my place and the subject never arose again. The kids have a great group of friends - more so than the older three had at this age. Maybe it is because I know so many parents of both boys and girls it just seems that way, but something tells me this is a special group - it's hard to describe. When I picked them up from the dance there was lots of happy chatter and then it was off to an 'after party' until midnight. When it was all said and done, I know I was the one who was dragging on Saturday - but the two of them were still on their pink cloud from the night before...lets hope it lasts four more years.
Trying to keep it simple with a husband, five kids, three dogs, a job, and a jewelry business.
